  1. Forget the freak’s review. This leather cover looks super slick. Kill as many animals as you need to, to accomplish fashion.

I’ve had my Kindle for all of two days and absolutely love it! However, I will not use the cover as it’s made of leather. Surely I’m not the only vegan with a Kindle. Can’t they make a cover out of another material that isn’t so objectionable to those of us who abjure the use of animal products?

Maybe I’m easily satisfied, but the cover works well for what it is designed to do – protect your Kindle. I don’t think the cover is meant to be kept on the Kindle when you are reading. The cover protects the Kindle from getting squished when I carry it in my briefcase. With the price of the Kindle so high, protecting your Kindle should be high on the list of priorities.

  4. I’m still new with it. If I have any problems you will hear from me. Right now I’m taking my time with it.

  5. Based on the recommendation of a couple of friends whose opinions I valued I purchased a Kindle particularly for a planned trip to Europe. The biggest draw for me was not having to carry 40 pounds of books with me. On the flight to New York the lady in the window seat asked to be allowed to go to the bathroom. I, of course, gallantly arose and as I did so my new Kindle slide out of the Amazon provided case (as nothing fastens the Kindle to the case) and it fell about 18 inches to the aisle. Upon retreiving my beloved Kindle I found it inoperable and nonfunctional. Fortunately I was able to buy 40 pounds of books at JFK and went on to Europe. Upon my return this week I called the so called Customer Service number and was told that the product warranty did not cover my Kindle but that Amazon out of pure generosity would sell me a remanufactured product for only $180.00. I was incredulous. A poorly designed case and a poorly designed product that cannot withstand modest jarring will not be repaired or replaced by the manufacturer? This is probably the worst customer service policy I have ever experienced and I plan to tell everyone I know and can reach on the internet what a crummy product and lousy service policy Amazon his foisted on the public. I’m done buying books from them too. Larry Luke (lukeatlaw@gmail.com if anyone woudl like to share a similar story)
