The Kindle edition of U.S. News & World Report clearly is a case of a publication trading on name recognition. I subscribed and cancelled the same evening.
Once a month distribution doesn’t make sense for a publication that I expect to be timely and apace with world and national events. Change the name, or change the content. As it is, this edition is in an awkward spot, and in my view, not fixable.
The purposes – for me anyway – of reading newspapers and magazines on my Kindle are convenience, timeliness, and relevance. Attributes that untether me from my computer. I can read the WSJ Online, the NYT and many more (and better) publications when I’m at my computer and be far ahead of any advantage this edition of USNWR has to offer.

Have subscribed for over 3 months to this weekly magazine and only received 5 so far. No help through kindle support. Time to cancel subscription.

As a Kindle owner and U.S. News & WR print subscriber, I must correct all the reviewers who seem unable to read. (hint: read the delivery description at the top) This particular edition, at $1.99/mo. is for the once-monthly edition. Look further down the list for the weekly edition which is priced differently!
For those unaware, U.S. News & WR recently changed their print format from the traditional weekly publication to monthly, which includes the weekly editions in digital format only.
Kindle subscribers have the advantage of subscribing to weekly, monthly or both.

The lack of pictures hasn’t bothered me as much as I thought it would, but the bi-weekly delivery sure does — especially since Amazon lists it as a weekly item. My Time and Newsweek editions are true weekly subscriptions, but for some reason U.S. News and World Report only comes every other week.
I emailed Amazon to make sure there wasn’t a problem with my particular subscription and they responded that this was indeed a bi-weekly subscription. As a result, I’m unsure why they continue to list it as weekly.
At a slightly higher price than the others (Time, Newsweek), my U.S. News subscription is the one that won’t make the cut.

I have had my Kindle since early August and love everything about it but have been reluctant to order magazines. Admittedly, when I was much younger, unbeknownst to my parents, I did not read Playboy for the articles. Now that I have reached a ripe old middle age, I do not read news magazines for the pictures but have been hesitant to order Time, Newsweek or U.S.News because I felt the cover sometimes tells an amazing story. Well, I got my initial trial copy of U.S. News and, as expected, no pictures to add color to the stories. I will probably get used to this “word only” version of a weekly magazine but I am fearful that, unlike my daily newspapers, I will always want for more.
