kindle.revolutionstore.biz Introducing Kindle™ Three years ago, we set out to design and build an entirely new class of device—a convenient, portable reading device with the ability to wirelessly download books, blogs, magazines, and newspapers. The result is Amazon Kindle. We designed Kindle to provide an exceptional reading experience. Thanks to electronic paper, a revolutionary new display technology, reading Kindles screen is as sharp and natural as reading ink on paper—and nothing like …
Note: This is NOT an unbiased e-book reader review! I love the Amazon Kindle 2! If you are looking for a “fair and balanced” look into the Amazon 2 wireless reading device, go elsewhere!
There is an amazing new line of e-book readers developed for the person on the go. Of course, ebook readers are not a new concept. There have been many styles of ebook readers on the market for years, starting with the Franklin EBookMan back in 1999. When you are considering buying an ebook reader, there are some things that separate the standard models from their feature-filled cousins. What makes the Amazon Kindle 2 such a great thing to have is its size. It can hold a lot of information, doesn’t weigh very much and is user friendly. A company called E Ink Technologies Corporation developed a one hundred and sixty-six resolution simulated paper that looks so astonishingly similar to the real thing that it is hard to tell the difference.
Just when I was beginning to think that other e-book readers were beginning to catch up with Amazon, the Amazon Kindle 2 was released–blowing away the competition. As the digital age firmly takes hold, people are moving away from paper copies of anything. In fact, I’ve noticed on my daily train commutes that more people entertain themselves on digital devices than with a newspaper.
While the first e-book readers were designed to hold up to 200 novels, the new Amazon Kindle 2 can hold over 1500 tomes. Though that may seem like more words than anyone would care to read, the point is that you can carry an entire library inside the device. It is a mere one-third of an inch thick and only weighs ten ounces, which is less than a typical paperback. This makes for portable, pleasurable reading.
There have been a few other improvements with the K2 wireless reading device over the original version. The display screen has been improved to more closely resemble reading from paper, with sixteen shades of grey for clearer text and crisper images. The battery life has been extended by twenty-five percent, and page turning is now twenty percent faster. It also has a feature that allows you to adjust the text size for your needs.
One of the latest novel features of the Amazon Kindle 2 is that it now has a text-to-speech function. This lets you have your magazines and newspapers read to you, if you so choose; and makes a wonderful companion when you drive or do other work, which requires visual concentration and your hands to be free. The K2 is exclusive to Amazon, where you have over 250,000 different book choices, plus a large assortment of magazines, newspapers and blogs. You can also download ebooks at a much lower price.
Kindles are fascinating devices. Try carrying around over 1,500 books yourself. That would be hard on the shoulders but this device can do it. Find out more by clicking here: Amazon Kindle 2
As I type this message there are 263 Kindle 2 reviews on Amazon’s web site. Why trouble with another? I am not one inclined to writing reviews but I do inspect them fastidiously before I’m making a significant purchase, here on Amazon.com and on other seller websites. So on the possibility that I’d say something that helps a potential buyer make up their mind, particularly someone that hasn’t owned the 1st Kindle, this is my little effort to give back to the method. First of all, I loved Kindle 1 although I noted many inabilities due to the planning of the hardware. I’m happy to learn that every inability ( except one ) has been fixed beyond my expectancies. As I did I marveled at the new Kindle’s fresh, smooth design. It is a beauty! The main issue I had with Kindle 1 was the navigation button design and placement. My original thought was that I needed to use my Kindle 1 without a cover but I quickly learned that doing so wasn’t practical. I was stuck reading using two hands and I didn’t like that in the slightest. Kindle 2 solves all of these Problems. I am not going to trouble with a cover at all now. It is easy to navigate without any possibility of accidentally changing the page I’m on. I will be able to possibly purchase a Belkin sleeve to guard it when I take it out but that’s’s all. See the discussin thread and footage here : [...] The Kindle 2’s reworked features are wonderful. The display is better and the 5-way button is a major improvement. I do a lot of highlighting and this design fix is massive. Looking up words is much easier and many times faster. Now it shows the total number of locations and the percent already read. The fact that Kindle 2 has no SD card capability and the battery isn’t user-serviceable isn’t an issue with me. Even with a few hundred books in my library, it will be a long time before the two gig memory starts to be a restricting factor and when it does ( if it does ) I will just repository what I’ve already read. Amazon’s design team has made it easy to drag archived books back to the Kindle 2 without having to go to a {PC|P. Computer. It would have been sweet to have that but it doesn’t take away from my delight. [Note added three / five / 09 : Bufo Calvo created an inovative strategy of catagorizing books on Kindle that works great so this item is no longer on my wish list. [...] Page turns are noticeably faster and the page reloads are less intrusive to the reading experience. On / off buttons are repositioned to be simply accessible. The default page is better to navigate. There are more enhancements that many others have already noted so I am going to stop here without repeating everything that has been declared already. But the largest thing about Kindle ( both one and 2 ) is the Amazon store and how easy it is to browse and buy books from. I am so impressed with the way they have neatly brought the store along with the reading device via Whispernet to make the digital reading experience such a wonderful thing to enjoy. So if you’re considering buying yourself a Kindle 2 I highly recommend it.
